After Your Examination

After you receive your examination score, you can check it online.

You can also check your score by calling the Board at (609) 292-7550. If you do not have access to a computer or telephone, please contact the Board for assistance in accessing this information.

You may also request that a copy of your nursing license application and exam report be mailed to you by writing or emailing: New Jersey Board of Nursing c/o Education Unit PO Box 45010 Trenton, NJ 08628-5010

Find out how to read your score report.

The score report will indicate whether or not you passed the exam. If you pass, your results will also include information about the number of questions answered correctly and incorrectly and your total time to complete the test.

On the other hand, if you don’t pass on your first attempt, there are steps you can take to improve your chances in retesting:

  • Review your performance on each question and determine what types of errors caused you to miss particular questions (e.g., calculation errors or wrong answer choices). You should also review how long it took for you to complete each section of the exam so that next time around, when taking another test from our pool of sample exams or actual content bank questions, we can know how well prepared for an NCLEX-RN® exam with regards to timing issues during a test.”

Are you ready to go to nursing school? Check out our RN/LPN requirements for admission for more information.

The Board of Nursing of New Jersey has provided the following information to help you to make sure that you are prepared to enter a nursing program. When you apply, your score report will be evaluated by the Board of Nursing. You must make sure that all requirements have been met before applying for admission into a nursing program.

If any requirements are not met, please contact us and we will assist you with this process.

Make sure you have completed all of the requirements on your score report.

If you fail to meet all of the requirements on your score report, you will be required to retake the examination. If you fail to meet all of the requirements on your score report, and you have already paid for an application fee for another license or certification, a refund check is not issued.
