Child Life Internship Description

The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Child Life Internship provides students the opportunity to gain experience working in a hospital setting with children. The internship is designed to give students exposure to the variety of work that goes on at a pediatric hospital, including patient care, administrative work, and research.

The Child Life Internship is offered every summer and consists of 2 weeks of full-time employment. The internship is open to students who are currently enrolled in an accredited child life program or who have completed an accredited child life program within the past two years.

During the internship, students will work in one of four departments: Pediatrics, Surgery/Anesthesiology, Neonatal/Pediatric Critical Care, or Specialty Care/Children’s Hospital Research Institute. Each department has its own unique set of responsibilities and opportunities for growth.
