Why Georgia Baptist College of Nursing?

Georgia Baptist College of Nursing (GBCN) is a Christian college in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s a member of the Georgia Baptist Convention, Southern Baptists, and SBC-affiliated universities across the nation.

GBCN has been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). They also offer an online RN to BSN program that is accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The GBCN campus is located on Peachtree Road in Atlanta and houses both traditional undergraduate students who attend classes from Monday through Thursday evenings, as well as graduate students who attend classes during the day.

RN To BSN Online Program

The RN to BSN online program is offered in a traditional, accelerated and weekend format. The coursework is delivered via the Internet and the student needs access to a computer with high-speed Internet and email capabilities for course access. Students who enroll in this program may attend classes at any time during the year, including evenings or weekends.

Academic Programs

The Nursing Department of WBU’s School of Health Professions offers these academic programs:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This four-year program is designed for students who have obtained an associate’s degree in nursing or its equivalent.
  • RN-BSN bridge program. The RN-BSN bridge program is designed to help registered nurses who are working in the field of nursing to complete their bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Our flexible degree completion programs allow you to earn your bachelor’s degree in nursing in just two years! The accelerated program allows for two semesters during each summer session or three in one calendar year.

The four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program prepares graduates to meet the ever-changing demands of the nursing profession by providing a foundation in liberal arts disciplines, as well as providing students with clinical experiences that prepare them for challenging roles in today’s health care system. The curriculum includes both didactic (classroom) and clinical instruction, with an emphasis on excellence in both areas.

The college uses various modes of instruction including online classes, classroom lectures and seminars, hands on lab experience using simulated patients who are actors trained to simulate illnesses or injuries for student practice; technology enhanced classrooms; teleconferences; distance learning courses; library resources such as textbooks and multimedia materials available through MVS eMedia Center (available 24 hours/day).
