Point Park University

Point Park University is a private, coeducational university in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded in the midst of the Civil War at an old homestead by two Methodist pastors and is still owned by the United Methodist Church. The school is named for nearby Point Park and its historic role as a recreation area for residents of Pittsburgh’s North Side.

Point Park University is a member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Seton Hill University

Seton Hill University is a private, co-educational university located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. It offers Bachelor’s degrees in nursing, business administration and health professions. The university offers both online and on-campus programs.

Carlow University

Carlow University is a private university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees, including several nursing programs. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program at Carlow University is an online option that students can complete in less than three years. Students who are accepted into the program are required to complete general education courses as well as courses related to their major before they can apply for admission into the nursing program itself.

The BSN program at Carlow University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

Penn State Altoona

Penn State Altoona is a public university located in the city of Altoona, Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1855 as the Normal School at Altoona and eventually became a part of Penn State University in 1953. The university offers 82 undergraduate degrees, 48 graduate degrees and 11 doctoral programs through its seven colleges: College of Arts & Letters; Smeal College of Business; Eberly College of Arts & Sciences; School of Education; Franklin Humanities Institute; Schreyer Honors College; and The Academy for Individualized Study.

The school’s total enrollment is 12,857 students with an acceptance rate of 57%. The majority (90%) are full-time students and 50% are female while 50% male make up this student population. Tuition and fees vary by program but range from $9,310-$12,830 per year while room & board costs range from $8,300-$11,100 per year on average (2016-2017).

Pennsylvania residents who attend classes on campus pay lower tuition rates than out-of-state students do – $14/credit hour versus $159/credit hour respectively (as determined by state law). Students can apply online or use paper applications with their high school guidance counselors until March 1st each year prior to entering college after which time they may only apply online via MyAdmissions Portal at https://mypennstateapplication.psuadmissions!

Gannon University

Gannon University is a private, coeducational Catholic university located in Erie, Pennsylvania. The university was founded in 1883 by the Sisters of Mercy as Villa Maria College for Women; it became Gannon University after merging with Mercyhurst College in 1994.

Gannon’s main campus is located on the southern edge of Erie at 1 Gannon Drive, just west of downtown and south of Presque Isle State Park. Other campuses are located throughout Northwest Pennsylvania: Mercyhurst North East (formerly known as Lake Campus) is in North East; Mercyhurst Westmoreland near Latrobe; and Lake Erie Regional Port Authority in Erie Township

Duquesne University

Duquesne University is a private Catholic university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1878 by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit.

Duquesne offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs to over 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields including business administration; liberal arts; nursing; engineering; science; computer science; education; music therapy; exercise science/kinesiology/physical therapy (ESPT); pharmacy and health sciences informatics (HIS). Duquesne also has strengths in fashion design with its College of Creative Arts (CCA) featuring the School for Art & Design as well as the Department of Merchandising Management within its School for Business Administration.

Alvernia College

Alvernia College is a private, coeducational, Catholic liberal arts college located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The college has been ranked in the top tier of master’s-level nursing programs in the United States for the past decade. Alvernia offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in nursing, along with certificate programs that can be completed entirely online or through hybrid learning options. Students who attend Alvernia may also complete their clinical hours at one of many local hospitals and health care facilities throughout Berks County, including Good Samaritan Hospital & Health Center (Reading), Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital (Darby Borough), Reading Hospital & Medical Center (West Reading), or Holy Name Medical Center (Reading).

Wilkes University

Wilkes University, located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is a private university with a student population of over 5,800.

The university offers bachelor’s degrees in fields like business administration and nursing.

Tuition costs $33,270 for full-time students and $31,740 for part-time students.

Students are required to take the SAT or ACT exam as part of their admissions process to upload an unofficial transcript on their application form if they have not taken these exams previously.

If you want to transfer into Wilkes University from another school as an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree program you should check with your current college first before applying through them directly because there are some schools where this will be difficult (such as large public colleges). If this isn’t possible then ask yourself if it’s worth taking more classes at another institution just so that you can “transfer” into Wilkes University which may end up costing more money than just finishing out those last few months at the university where

Susquehanna University

Susquehanna University is a private university in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. It offers an online RN to BSN program. The cost of tuition is $12,150 per year and includes books and other course materials. Financial aid plans are available to those who qualify and can help students cover the costs of their education at Susquehanna University.

The admission requirements for this program include:

  • High school diploma or GED certification (if you already have your degree)
  • Proof of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)

Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus

Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus is a public university located in Indiana, PA. IU of P is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and enrolls over 9,000 students annually.

The university offers several programs for those interested in becoming nurses, including:

Messiah College

Messiah College is a private Christian liberal arts college located in Grantham, Pennsylvania, about 30 miles north of Harrisburg. The college was founded in 1867 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Today it is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The campus is situated on over 1,000 acres (4 km²) of environmentally sensitive land that includes woodlands and meadows along scenic Chest Creek. Messiah offers nearly 40 majors and pre-professional programs through its various schools: School of Arts & Sciences; School of Business; School of Education; School of Nursing; and School of Professional Studies (formerly known as General Studies).
