Personal Statement On Nursing

I am applying to study nursing at university and want to show my passion for the subject. I think this is a great opportunity for me as it will allow me to develop my skills as an individual who cares about others, but also have time to spend with my family and friends.

I have always been a very caring and nurturing person.

I’m sure you already know that nursing is a caring profession, but I think it is important to mention this in your personal statement because it will help you show how well you fit into the role.

As a nurse, you need to be able to empathise with patients and understand their needs. You have to listen carefully and give them time if they need it. You need to be patient with people who are going through difficult times and be able to respond appropriately without being too emotional yourself so that you don’t upset them further by crying or getting angry.

Being a good listener is an important part of being a nurse because listening well means that when people talk about their problems, they feel heard instead of ignored or dismissed—this can make all the difference in their recovery process!

I have worked with the elderly in the past so I do understand the role of being a carer.

You have to be caring, understanding and supportive. You have to be able to communicate with them, understand their needs and work with them as well. It is also important that you are able to see the situation from their point of view.

The elderly can be very difficult at times but when you know how to handle them, it becomes easy for you. In my previous work experience, I had worked with elderly people who were suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia and some other illnesses too like cancer etc., So I do understand the role of being a carer for the elderly now-a-days because of which I am more interested in this job than any other nursing jobs out there

I was not expecting how difficult it would be to work with people who were suffering from dementia but wanted to give it my best shot, as it was something I really wanted to do.

Dementia is a disease that causes memory loss, and as the disease progresses, it affects the patient’s ability to think and communicate. Dementia can affect people of all ages but is more common in older adults. In fact, about 1 in 3 people over 65 years old have Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia.

Dementia is caused by certain changes in your brain that disrupt the way your brain normally works. These changes happen most often because of Alzheimer’s disease or other kinds of progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease or Huntington’s disease.

From my research into this, I found that nurses had forged links with people in the community and worked with GPs to ensure that a patient’s quality of life was improved.

It’s clear that nurses are an important part of the healthcare team. Nurses work with patients and their families, as well as GPs, to ensure that a patient’s quality of life is improved. They are the first point of contact for many people and can make a difference to their lives by providing emotional support and physical care (such as helping them with washing or dressing). Nurses also manage medications carefully to prevent any side effects in their patients’ daily lives.

I would like to be able to use these skills myself in the future.

It is so important that you are able to see your patients as individuals, and not look at their medical problems in isolation which is where I think my double degree in Criminology/Psychology will prove invaluable as it has given me many opportunities to interact with individuals from many different backgrounds and cultures.

Having said this, what attracted me most about nursing was the ability to work directly with patients and their families.

Nursing seemed like a perfect fit for me because it would allow me to work directly with people who needed medical care.

As much as we all wish it were so, not everyone has access or insurance for health care in America today. Many people are forced into bankruptcy due to high medical bills or do not receive proper treatment for chronic illnesses such as diabetes or heart disease simply because they cannot afford it (American Diabetes Association). In order for these patients—and many others—to receive proper care from physicians or nurses in their communities, there must be adequate funding provided by our government officials at both state and federal levels (National Association of Social Workers).

On reflection of my placement experience, I now realise how vital my support for them must have been, because alone they don’t always have anyone else.

As a nurse, you’ll be the link between the patient and their doctor. You will be spending most of your time with them, so it’s important to have strong communication skills.

The best part is that you can make a difference in your patients’ lives by providing them with comfort and support while they are going through stressful times or undergoing treatment for an illness.

I believe this to be true. Although the idea of caring for others can be overwhelming, it is often the most rewarding and fulfilling thing we can do in our lives. As nurses are required to care for a large number of patients at one time, this can seem impossible. However, by having a positive attitude, setting aside time each day to reflect on your experiences and reflect on how they have helped shape your future career as a nurse could be beneficial.
