St. Joseph’s College of Nursing is a private, not-for-profit, coeducational nursing school located in Syracuse, New York. The school has been in existence since 1924 and offers baccalaureate and master’s degrees with several different options for each degree level.

St. Joseph’s College of Nursing offers several different programs such as an LPN-to-RN bridge program that allows graduates to become licensed as registered nurses (RNs) after completing additional coursework and clinical requirements; a Family Nurse Practitioner program that provides students with the knowledge necessary to become advanced practice nurses who specialize in caring for patients in various areas such as pediatrics; and an RN Completion Program which targets those who have already earned a two year associate’s degree but wish to earn their bachelor’s degree in nursing at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing while continuing their career path as an RN. The institution also offers several masters degrees including a Master of Science In Nursing (MSN), Master of Science In Clinical Research Administration (MSCR), Master Of Science In Management Of Health Care Organizations (MSMHCO), Master Of Science In Educational Leadership And Policy Analysis (MSELPA) along with online certificate programs including: Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Certification Program; Certified Medical Assistant Certification Program; Certified Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Certification Program; Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification Program; Pain Management/Epidural Anesthesia Consultant Certification Program

St. Joseph’s College of Nursing was founded in 1896 as St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing by the Sisters of St. Francis, who continue to operate it today. The school was founded at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York, which is also still operating today with more than 1,600 licensed beds and more than 500 physicians on staff.[1]

The college offers a variety of different programs from associate degrees all the way up to doctoral programs at its main campus in Brighton Heights or online courses for students living outside this area who want to pursue their nursing career but cannot physically attend classes every day due to other obligations such as work or family commitments.[2]

The new building contains administrative offices, classrooms, a library and various other facilities for students to use throughout their studies at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing program.

In 1938 the school became affiliated with Le Moyne College and Mercy School of Nursing.

On July 1, 2012, St. Joseph’s College of Nursing sold their hospital based diploma program to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY and changed their name to Mohawk Valley Community College

St. Joseph’s College of Nursing sold their hospital based diploma program to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY and changed their name to Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC). The college chose this name because of the college’s location in the Mohawk Valley region of central New York State. They also wanted a name that would be easy for people to remember and pronounce as well as reflect their mission statements: “To prepare students for success in any career.”

  • Established in the year 1938, St Joseph’s College of Nursing is a government aided college. It is affiliated to Mangalore University and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The courses offered by this institute include Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Post Basic BScN and Post Basic MScN. This college is run by the Sisters of St Francis which also runs hospitals like Carmel Hospital, KMC Health City, Kasturba Medical College, Dr Ambedkar Medical College etc.

The St. Joseph’s College of Nursing has an interesting history that dates back to 1896, when it was founded as a hospital school by the Sisters of St. Francis. The college is currently affiliated with Le Moyne College and Mercy School of Nursing, which means that students receive their education in both schools. This gives them access to more resources than other nursing schools have!
